St Marks, FL
Park near San Marcos de Apalache State Historic Site
Note: This is the same start location as the Wakulla River Race.

Note: All paddlers must be off the water by 5:00 PM

Course description:
3rd Challenge Course Map
1. Start near the boat ramp in the park.
2. Go upstream on the St Marks River.
3. The US-98 Bridge on the St Marks River is approximately 4.5 miles
from the start. Continue upstream for another 6 miles.
The next few miles of the St Marks River becomes less tidal and more of
a typical winding Florida river. The current can be strong, but don't
worry too much about your slow speed. The downstream run is much faster.
4. Turn around is approximate 6 miles upstream from the US-98 Bridge.
Turn at the small power line about 1.25 miles above the NO WAKE! sign.
5. Go downstream back to the start point. The distance is about 10.5 miles.
The first half of the downstream run is much faster than the upstream run.
Cutoff Time: 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
6. Proceed past the start location and turn Right into the Wakulla River.
The upstream run is identical to the Wakulla River Race. The upstream
course on the Wakulla is approximately 6.5 miles.
7. The US-98 Bridge on the Wakulla River is approximately 3.2 miles from
the start location. Continue upstream on the Wakulla to the second
bridge (CR-365). Turn around at the bridge and proceed back to the
start location and finish.
8. Total distance is approximately 34 miles.
