Course description:
  2nd Challenge Course Map

1. Start in the boat basin at Ray Way Side Park.

2. Go out the canal and turn Left downstream approximately 0.5 miles to
the confluence of the Silver and Ocklawaha Rivers.

3. Turn Right and proceed upstream on the Ocklawaha River to Moss Bluff
approximately 13.25 miles from the start.

The next mile of the Ocklawaha River is a typical winding Florida river,
then one enters the canal. The next 11.9 miles of the Ocklawaha River is
the old J D Young Canal built during the 1920's. Later this section of
the river was to be part of the Cross Florida Barge Canal and now it is
part of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

There are 3 bridges across this section of the Ocklawaha River.
The first bridge is approximately 2.7 miles from the start.
The second bridge is approximately 10.9 miles from the start.
The third bridge is approximately 13.1 miles from the start and
only 0.1 mile from Moss Bluff Park and the turnaround.

This is a good place to pit or make team changes.

Cutoff Time: 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time

4. Turn around at the Moss Bluff boat ramp and continue downstream
on the Ocklawaha to the confluence of the Silver and Ocklawaha
   Rivers - approximately 12.8 miles

5. Go upstream on the Silver River to the boat basin canal. Turn Right
into the canal and preceed back to the starting point - approximately
   0.5 miles from the Ocklawaha.

This is a good place to pit or make team changes.

Cutoff Time: 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

6. Go back out the canal and turn Right and upstream on the Silver
River to Monkey Island. This is the turnaround point for the annual
Silver River Race - approximately 4.5 miles.

7. Turn around the island and continue downstream approximate 4.5 miles
to the boat basin canal and FINISH!

8. Total distance is approximately 35.6 miles.

Note: All paddlers must be off the water by 4:00 PM
